All employees are encouraged to participate in training opportunities. The following information identifies training procedures:

 

RCPL Training Calendar will be updated periodically throughout the year. Non Mandatory Training offered by the City and other training not included in the calendar will need approval by your supervisor. Criteria and policies used include but are not limited to: RCPL Action Plan, Performance Review, RCPL Training Calendar, and Managerial Rights as listed in the ASFCME Contract. 

 

 

Mandatory:  required attendance, absence must be approved by supervisor

  • Staff evaluations of training sessions attended are mandatory
  • Pre- and post-tests are mandatory when applicable for the session
  • Staff unable to attend a mandatory session due to vacation or illness will be briefed on the meeting’s information by the LI of their department.
  • Mandatory items will be offered twice to allow all staff to attend with minimal re-scheduling.

 

Assigned: supervisor will determine the benefit regarding library need and/or professional development for employees

  • One-on-one training as assigned
